There are plenty of reasons to love summertime:  bikinis, afternoons on the golf course, and of course, you start thinking about firing up the grill. When it comes to summertime and grilling, your backyard really should be considered an outdoor extension of the man cave. Therefore, you need to make sure your backyard is the oasis you believe it to be.

There are some obvious features, like pools and lush landscaping, which would make your backyard an entertainment-friendly mecca on your block. However, from a guy’s perspective, the item that first comes to mind is the grill.

Of course, when planning a BBQ area in your backyard, you need to make sure you take proper steps in its creation. Consider this:

• Do you want a basic BBQ, an advanced grill or an outdoor kitchen? Some basic BBQs are as simple as outdoor fire pits that involve wood or charcoal under a metal grate. Conversely, an outdoor kitchen is exactly what it sounds like, an advanced kitchen or grill facility that is usually custom-made with your backyard in mind. While a simple grill or fire pit system can be bought at your local home improvement store, an advanced outdoor kitchen or grilling system usually needs to be planned with a professional.
• When deciding between a basic BBQ and an outdoor kitchen, you need to focus on your budget. Factors to consider here are how often you plan on using the grill or kitchen? Do you have people over regularly? Do you like to entertain? If you answer yes to these questions, investing in an outdoor kitchen or advanced grilling system probably won’t only serve your needs better, but will also improve the value of your property.
• Consider the cost and ease of repairs. Based on regular usage and the fact that the kitchen will be outside and exposed to the elements, know that repairs will happen. Is it something you can do yourself? Are you familiar with working with electric power, gas lines or other types of wiring and fuel sources? Depending on the complexity of your system, you may need to make sure you can afford the repairs, whether you do them yourself or hire an expert.
• What type of space are you working with in your backyard? Do you have room to accommodate what your dream outdoor kitchen requires? While the set-up might sound good in your head, if you don’t have the space for it, the design will look cramped and could do more harm than good to your backyard and your property value.

Whatever you decide, make sure you take these items into consideration when planning your grilling haven this summer.  Of course, always consult with a grill industry professional with any backyard improvement plan. Taking this step will assist in making your summer plans a reality.

   In stead of planning for repairs we use an infrared solaire built in barbecue grill. we’re six years into it and have still never needed to clean or repair it. infrared burner gets 1000+ degrees so it is like a self cleaning oven!
